Carabiners are basically metal loops usually made of aluminum they have sprung or screwed gates that allow rope or any other climbing equipment to be quickly inserted or removed. They can be broadly divided into two categories: non-locking and locking. Locking ones have an additional sleeve around the gate, which will only allow the gate to open when it is correctly positioned. Non locking
